The "Details" pages for the IEDB are changing! These changes do not affect the contents of the page, just the layout. The new layout is more compact and requires less scrolling in order to view the entire page. Previously, linked identifiers for terms were provided on a separate row from the term itself. Now, the page has been converted to a tabular format that displays the term and its identifier on a single row. Making these identifiers more explicit allows users to more clearly understand the origin of the terms used by the IEDB. This change not only makes the page more user friendly, it also provides the data in a more FAIR compliant manner. The FAIR principles of Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability and Reusability have been identified as goals that data repositories should meet to enhance the usefulness of their data holdings. The Assay Details pages are now shorter, as link out and identifier information that was previously displayed in separate rows has now been added to a new column that was placed in existing blank space. Each link out starts with information regarding what type of link it is, e.g. GenPept, NCBI, etc and then shows the stable identifier for each term, e.g. 9606 for homo sapiens, thus creating an informative link such as NCBITaxon:9606. This makes the many different types of stable identifiers that the IEDB utilizes more transparent and easier to use. Over time, we plan to add additional identifiers to terms in the IEDB as additional fields are mapped to ontology terms.

The Reference Details pages were also changed to be more succinct by showing the information in one section, rather than two, as shown below.
