Question: How can I find cross reactive epitopes through T cells or antibodies between Homo sapiens and any pathogen that infects human?
Answer: It is possible to query for data related to cross-reactivity by using the "Specialized Searches" accessible from the menu located at the top of the IEDB homepage.
Begin by selecting either T or B cell assay details. Next, in the search filters located along the left side of the page, use the "Epitope Organism" field to define the pathogen of interest. You can also use a broad selection, such as "Bacterium." Select "Positive" in the "Assay Qualitative Measurement" field. Finally, in the "Assay Antigen Organism" field, select "human." Click search to retrieve a list of assays in which humans infected/exposed to the pathogen have shown an immune response to human antigens.
For example, the following result is one such assay: http://www.iedb.org/assay/1328937
