The following categories are assigned during data curation based on what the authors indicate in the paper:
- Positive High
- Positive Intermediate
- Positive Low
If there is no binding or outcome in the experiment, as noted by the authors, then the data is negative. Some authors simply just indicate that - outcome (positive) or no outcome (negative).
However, other authors provide a more granular assessment, for positive in particular, which is shown in publications with between 1 and 3 '+' signs. As a result, we assign the above categories to the assay binding response as shown below:
- +++ = Positive High
- ++ = Positive Intermediate
- + = Positive Low
